Daniel Cleary
Daniel Cleary is an Irish defender from Dublin who developed as a centre-back after beginning with Crumlin United. He joined Liverpool’s academy in 2011, initially travelling from Ireland before moving to Merseyside, and featured prominently for the Under-18s. Liverpool included Cleary in their 2015 first-team pre-season tour, but he was released in 2016 without making a competitive senior appearance. He then joined Birmingham City and spent time on loan with Solihull Moors before leaving in early 2018. Returning home, Cleary signed for Dundalk and helped the club win Premier Division titles in 2018 and 2019, as well as two FAI Cups. After a spell with St Johnstone, he joined Shamrock Rovers in July 2022, adding league titles in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
