Danilo Cataldi

Danilo Cataldi is an Italian midfielder born in Rome on 6 August 1994. He developed at Ottavia before joining Lazio’s youth system in 2006–07, and helped the Primavera side win the 2012–13 championship. Cataldi moved to Crotone on loan for the 2013–14 Serie B season, establishing himself as a regular and scoring four goals in 35 appearances. He returned to Lazio and made his Serie A debut against Napoli on 18 January 2015. Later loans took him to Genoa and Benevento before he re-established himself in Lazio’s midfield. A right-footed central midfielder, Cataldi has increasingly operated as a deep-lying playmaker, distributing from behind the midfield line and screening the defence. After a loan spell with Fiorentina, he returned to Lazio, where Cataldi remains part of the squad.
