Drake Steven Callender

Drake Steven Callender is an American goalkeeper born in Sacramento on October 7, 1997. He developed with the San Jose Earthquakes Academy while commuting from Sacramento to train, then played college soccer for California from 2016 to 2019. With the Golden Bears, Callender made 54 appearances, kept 16 clean sheets, earned 2017 All-Pac-12 First Team honors and was named to the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. Inter Miami acquired his homegrown rights from San Jose in late 2019, and he continued his development with Fort Lauderdale CF, later Inter Miami II. Initially a third-choice goalkeeper in 2022, Callender won the starting role after his U.S. Open Cup opportunity against Miami FC. He helped Inter Miami win the 2023 Leagues Cup, scoring in and then saving a penalty during the final shootout against Nashville SC. Callender later moved through Charlotte FC before joining Minnesota United.
