Duje Ćaleta-Car

Duje Ćaleta-Car is a Croatian centre-back born in Šibenik on 17 September 1996. He developed at HNK Šibenik, making his senior debut in Croatia’s second division before moving to Austria in 2013. After a season with FC Pasching, he continued through the Red Bull pathway at FC Liefering and Red Bull Salzburg, breaking into Salzburg’s first team. With Salzburg, Ćaleta-Car won four consecutive Austrian Bundesliga titles and three domestic cups. In 2018, after joining Croatia’s squad for the FIFA World Cup, where the team reached the final, he transferred to Marseille. He later moved to Southampton in 2022, returned to France with Lyon in 2023, and joined Real Sociedad on loan in 2025. At 1.92 metres, Ćaleta-Car brings height and physical presence to central defence, while his development has included work in high-intensity systems and build-up play.
