David Brekalo
David Brekalo is a Slovenian centre-back born in Ljubljana on 3 December 1998. He developed in the NK Bravo youth system after joining in 2007 and moved into the club’s senior side in 2017. He helped Bravo win the 2018–19 Slovenian second-tier title and promotion, then made his PrvaLiga debut against Olimpija Ljubljana in July 2019. In August 2021, Brekalo moved to Norway with Viking, where he continued his development in the Eliteserien. He joined Orlando City SC in February 2024 and has since brought central-defensive experience to Major League Soccer. Although primarily a centre-back, Brekalo was also used at left-back during Orlando’s 2025 campaign, offering defensive balance from a wider position. He made his Slovenia debut against Croatia in March 2022 and scored his first international goal against Kazakhstan in a Euro 2024 qualifier in March 2023.
