Daniel Ian Bentley

Daniel Ian Bentley is an English goalkeeper born in Basildon on 13 July 1993. Initially a centre-back, he switched into goal for a match as a child and subsequently joined Arsenal’s academy, where he spent eight years before moving to Southend United. Bentley made his senior debut for Southend in 2011 and established himself during the 2012–13 season, when injuries opened an extended first-team opportunity. In 2014–15, he set a Southend record with 12 consecutive home clean sheets and saved two penalties in the play-off final shoot-out, helping secure promotion to League One and a place in the PFA Team of the Year. He moved to Brentford in 2016 and joined Bristol City in 2019, where he was appointed captain. Daniel signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2023 and made his Premier League debut against Manchester United that May. At Wolves, he has also provided leadership and kept a clean sheet in a 1–0 win at Manchester United in April 2025.
