Daniel Tan Barlaser
Daniel Tan Barlaser is an English midfielder from Gateshead, born on 18 January 1997. He joined Newcastle United’s academy as a nine-year-old, developed from a winger into a central midfielder, captained the under-23 side and made his senior debut in a 2017 FA Cup win over Birmingham City. Loan spells with Crewe Alexandra and Accrington Stanley preceded a 2019 move to Rotherham United, where he became a regular creative hub from deep. Barlaser helped Rotherham secure League One promotion in 2019–20 and 2021–22, and played in their 2022 EFL Trophy final victory at Wembley. Middlesbrough signed him in January 2023, adding a progressive passer to their midfield options. Known for retention, range and set-piece delivery, Barlaser is currently listed with Milton Keynes Dons.
