David Olatukunbo Alaba

David Olatukunbo Alaba is an Austrian centre-back whose left-footed versatility has also seen him operate at left-back and in midfield. Born in Vienna, he developed with SV Aspern and FK Austria Wien before joining Bayern Munich in 2008. He advanced through Bayern’s youth system, made his reserve debut in 2009, and appeared for the first team in the DFB-Pokal in February 2010. A six-month loan at TSG Hoffenheim in 2011 gave him regular top-flight experience and midfield minutes. Returning to Bayern, he established himself as a starter, initially at left-back before moving into central defence and helping win two trebles. In 2021, David Olatukunbo Alaba joined Real Madrid, where he won La Liga and the Champions League in his debut season. For Austria, he made his senior debut at 17 and became a prominent international leader, while his progressive passing and anticipation have underpinned his defending.
