Joaquim Claude Gonçalves Araújo

Claude Gonçalves is a Portuguese midfielder born in Propriano, France, on 9 April 1994. He began at CA Propriano before joining Ajaccio’s academy in 2007, and made his Ligue 1 debut for the Corsican club in September 2013. After Ajaccio’s relegation, he continued in France’s second tier before moving to Portugal, where he played for Tondela, Troyes and Gil Vicente. Gonçalves then joined Ludogorets in 2021, developing into a holding midfielder and featuring in domestic and European competition. At Ludogorets, he won three consecutive Bulgarian league titles and a Bulgarian Supercup. He signed for Legia Warszawa in 2024, bringing experience as a deep-lying midfielder who can screen the defence and distribute vertically. He is currently listed with Maribor, adding another chapter to a career across France, Portugal, Bulgaria, Poland and Slovenia.
