Francisco Leonel Lima Silva Machado

Chiquinho, the commonly used name of Portuguese attacking midfielder Francisco Leonel Lima Silva Machado, was born in Santo Tirso on 19 July 1995. He developed in northern Portugal, progressing through UDS Roriz, Boavista and Leixões before gaining senior experience with Gondomar. After a spell at NK Lokomotiva, he returned home to play for Académica de Coimbra and then established himself at Moreirense during the 2018–19 season. His performances earned a move to Benfica, where he competed for a place and also spent loan spells with Braga and Turkish club Giresunspor. At Benfica, Chiquinho increasingly operated deeper, contributing to buildup and midfield coverage rather than remaining solely a final-third creator. He joined Olympiakos in January 2024 and helped the Greek club win the UEFA Europa Conference League that year. Right-footed and 174 centimetres tall, Chiquinho offers positional flexibility between attacking and central midfield, linking phases with close control and passing.
