Chico Faria Camará Lamba

Chico Lamba is a centre-back born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, who developed in Portugal after joining CF Benfica in 2013. He moved to Sporting CP’s academy in 2014 and progressed through the club’s youth teams to Sporting CP B, entering the reserve setup in 2020. Lamba also captained Sporting’s Under-19 side during its 2022–23 UEFA Youth League run to the semi-finals. He made his Sporting first-team debut in October 2022, appearing in a league victory over Casa Pia. In July 2024, he joined Arouca, where he established himself as a regular in the 2024–25 Primeira Liga campaign. Saint-Étienne signed the defender in July 2025, adding him to its squad. At 1.89 metres, Chico Lamba offers height in aerial contests while contributing to build-up play from the back, and he has represented Portugal at Under-21 level.
