Carlos Romero Serrano

Carlos Romero is a Spanish left-back born in Torrent on 29 October 2001. He began playing senior football with CF Torre Levante before joining Villarreal’s academy in May 2019. Romero developed through Villarreal C and Villarreal B, becoming a regular at the club’s lower levels and gaining experience in the Segunda División with the reserve side. That pathway took him from academy football into senior competition. He made his La Liga debut for Villarreal on 17 September 2023, starting in a 2–1 win over Almería. In July 2024, Villarreal loaned Romero to Espanyol, giving him an opportunity to establish himself in top-flight football. Primarily a left-back, he has also operated farther forward as a wing-back or left-sided attacker, contributing energetic recovery work, tackling and support in the final third. Romero remains linked with Villarreal as he continues his professional development.
