Cheick Omar Traoré

Cheick Omar Traoré is a defender born in Paris on 31 March 1995 who represents Mali internationally. He began his senior career with SM Caen, signing a professional contract in 2015 before gaining experience with Avranches. Traoré then joined Châteauroux, where his performances led to a move into Ligue 1 with Guingamp in 2018. After his spell at Guingamp, he continued at Lens, contributing during the club's return to the top flight. He later spent three years with Dijon before leaving France for Gloria Buzău in Romania and Al-Faisaly in Jordan. Primarily a right-back, Traoré has also been used higher on the flank or in an inverted role, offering recovery pace and support in attack. His career has therefore taken him from French lower-division football to Ligue 1 and overseas competition, while his current registered club is SCM Gloria Buzău.
