Christopher Jeffrey Richards
Christopher Jeffrey Richards is an American centre-back for Crystal Palace. Born in Birmingham on 28 March 2000, he developed in Alabama before moving to Houston at 16 to join Texans SC Houston, where he helped win a national youth title. FC Dallas brought him back in 2017, and he signed a Homegrown contract the following year. Richards then moved to Bayern München, featuring for Bayern II as they won the 3. Liga title in 2020, before gaining Bundesliga experience during two spells with 1899 Hoffenheim. In 2022, he joined Crystal Palace and has since operated in central defence, including as the right-sided defender in a back three. He also represented the United States at the 2025 Gold Cup, scoring a header in the final, while helping Palace win the 2025 FA Cup.
