Calvin William Ramsay

Calvin William Ramsay is a Scottish right-back from Aberdeen who developed at Cove Youth before joining Aberdeen’s academy. He initially played in midfield, moving to right-back at under-15 level, a background that informs his passing and ball retention. Ramsay made his Aberdeen senior debut in March 2021 and soon became a regular contributor, taking corners and free-kicks and supplying an assist against BK Häcken on his European debut. His 2021–22 performances earned him the SFWA Young Player of the Year award. Liverpool signed Ramsay in June 2022, but a back issue identified during his medical delayed his start. He debuted against Napoli in the Champions League in November 2022 before knee surgery ended his first season, followed by loan spells with Preston North End, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and Kilmarnock. Ramsay remains linked with Liverpool, while Scotland is his national team.
