Charles Monginda Pickel

Charles Monginda Pickel is a Swiss-born midfielder from Solothurn, Switzerland, known for his physical work in central areas. He developed in the FC Basel academy and represented Switzerland through the under-20 level, gaining experience in midfield and defensive roles. Pickel later moved to Grasshoppers before joining Neuchâtel Xamax on loan, continuing his search for senior opportunities. In 2019, he transferred to Grenoble, where he established himself in Ligue 2 as a combative ball-winner. He joined Cremonese in 2022 and played in Italy’s top flight during the club’s Serie A campaign. After representing Switzerland’s youth teams, Pickel made his senior debut for DR Congo in September 2023 and was part of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad. He is currently listed with Sharjah FC and remains a physically imposing midfielder capable of protecting the defence and contesting aerial duels.
