Christian Thers Nørgaard

Christian Thers Nørgaard is a Danish defensive midfielder born in Copenhagen on 10 March 1994. He developed through BK Heimdal, Espergærde IF and Lyngby before moving to Hamburger SV in 2012, where he played for the reserves without making a senior appearance. Nørgaard returned to Denmark in 2013 and established himself at Brondby, winning the 2017–18 Danish Cup and receiving the club’s 2017 Player of the Year award. A subsequent move to Fiorentina brought six appearances before he joined Brentford in 2019. At Brentford, Christian Thers Nørgaard grew from a screening midfielder into a disruptive Premier League presence, using interceptions, tackling and simple circulation to protect the defence and launch attacks. He became club captain in 2023 after Pontus Jansson’s departure. Nørgaard has represented Denmark since 2020, including at Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024, and is now listed with Everton.
