Connor Isaac Metcalfe

Connor Isaac Metcalfe is an Australian midfielder born in Newcastle on 5 November 1999. He joined Melbourne City’s youth system in 2014 and progressed into the senior squad, moving from an early defensive role into midfield. Metcalfe became a key figure in Melbourne City’s 2020–21 A-League Premiership and Championship double, while also earning PFA Team of the Season recognition and the Harry Kewell Medal. He moved to FC St. Pauli in July 2022 and helped the club win promotion to the Bundesliga in 2023–24. At St. Pauli, Connor Metcalfe has been used centrally and in more advanced midfield positions, with his work including linking play and covering ground. His international career with Australia includes a first senior goal against Saudi Arabia in June 2025 during World Cup qualification. Metcalfe remains part of both Australia’s setup and FC St. Pauli’s squad, continuing a progression from Melbourne development player to European midfielder.
