Christopher Donald McVey

Christopher Donald McVey is a Swedish centre-back born in Sparsör on 12 April 1997. He began with Sparsörs AIK before joining the IF Elfsborg academy at 12, where he played five UEFA Youth League matches and represented Sweden at under-17 and under-18 level. McVey made his senior Elfsborg debut in October 2017 and spent 2019 on loan with Dalkurd FF, making 17 Superettan appearances. Returning to Elfsborg, he became a regular defender and gained European experience in Conference League qualifying, while also showing the versatility to operate at full-back. In January 2022, he moved to Inter Miami, starting all 34 regular-season matches and the club’s first playoff game that year. After a subsequent spell with D.C. United, McVey joined San Diego, where his 192-centimetre frame supports his work in aerial duels and build-up play.
