Callum William McGregor

Callum William McGregor is a central midfielder for Celtic and a Scotland international from Glasgow. He joined Celtic’s academy at nine and progressed through the club’s youth system, winning four successive Scottish Youth Cups from 2010 to 2013. In August 2013, Celtic loaned McGregor to Notts County, where he played in League One and scored 14 goals during the club’s successful fight against relegation. Returning to Celtic in 2014, he scored on his competitive debut against KR Reykjavík in a Champions League qualifier. Initially used as an attacking midfielder or wide player, McGregor moved deeper under Brendan Rodgers and developed into a metronomic central midfielder who controls possession and tempo. He became Celtic captain in 2021 and has won 10 Scottish Premiership titles and five domestic trebles with the club. For Scotland, McGregor scored against Croatia at Euro 2020 and earned 63 caps before retiring internationally in 2024.
