Cahal McGinty

Cahal McGinty is a Northern Irish defender who has spent his senior career with Dungannon Swifts. Born on 29 September 2000, he developed in the club’s youth system before signing his first senior contract on 1 July 2018. McGinty broke into the first team that year and has since made more than 130 appearances for the Swifts. Primarily a centre-back, he has also provided cover at right-back and left-back, giving Dungannon flexibility across its defence. His role has grown from a developing defender into an established presence in the back line. McGinty also gained European experience in the 2025/26 UEFA Conference League qualifying campaign, featuring in Dungannon’s two-legged tie against FC Vaduz. He played the full match in the 1–0 away victory and completed 120 minutes in the return fixture.
