Chancel Mbemba Mangulu

Chancel Mbemba Mangulu is a Congolese defender born in Kinshasa on 8 August 1994. He developed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo before joining Anderlecht in 2011 and breaking into the first team, helping win the Belgian Pro League in 2013–14. Mbemba moved to Newcastle United in 2015, contributing as the club returned to the Premier League by winning the Championship in 2017. In 2018, he joined FC Porto, where he won two Primeira Liga titles and two Taça de Portugal trophies during a four-year spell. He then moved to Marseille in 2022, adding experience in France to his European career. A centre-back, Mbemba can also operate at right-back or in defensive midfield, combining recovery speed with aerial strength and composed distribution. Internationally, he represents DR Congo and was part of the team that finished third at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
