Carl Friedrich Georg Klaus
Carl Friedrich Georg Klaus is a German goalkeeper born in Stuttgart on 16 January 1994. He began at MTV Stuttgart before spending 2004–2012 in the VfB Stuttgart academy. Klaus moved to VfL Wolfsburg in 2012, winning the 2012/13 U19 Bundesliga and helping the club’s reserve side take the 2014 Regionalliga Nord title. He also represented Germany at under-18 level in 2011. In 2016, he joined Spain’s CD Atlético Baleares, where he developed from a reserve into the regular goalkeeper and made 59 league appearances before returning to Germany in 2019. Klaus played for SV Darmstadt 98 from 2019 to 2021, then joined 1. FC Nürnberg, making 16 league starts during the second half of the 2023/24 season. In 2024, he moved to Union Berlin on a free transfer and became part of the Bundesliga club’s first-team squad.
