Christian Kabasele

Christian Kabasele is a Belgian defender, born in Lubumbashi on 24 February 1991. He developed in Belgium with RFC Chaudfontaine before joining AS Eupen, where he initially played as a striker and later moved into defence. Kabasele continued his early senior development with a loan spell at KV Mechelen and a period at Ludogorets Razgrad, helping the Bulgarian club win a domestic double in 2012. He joined Genk in 2014 and established himself as a centre-back, earning the club’s Player of the Year award in 2015–16. His performances brought selection for Belgium’s Euro 2016 squad and a move to Watford, where he spent seven seasons and featured in the club’s 2019 FA Cup final campaign. In July 2023, Kabasele moved to Udinese and continued his career in Serie A. Standing 187 centimetres tall, he is valued for physical defending, aerial play, clearances and positional strength.
