Curtis Julian Jones

Curtis Julian Jones is an England international central midfielder who was born in Liverpool and developed at Liverpool after joining the academy from grassroots club Mossley Hill at nine. A technically gifted youth player, he signed his first professional contract in February 2018 before making his senior debut for Liverpool in an FA Cup tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2019. On 5 January 2020, Jones scored his first-team breakthrough goal, a long-range winner against Everton in the FA Cup. Initially deployed wide and later as an advanced midfielder, he has increasingly operated centrally, using close control, passing and ball progression to help Liverpool retain possession and break lines. Jones was part of Liverpool’s 2019–20 and 2024–25 Premier League-winning squads. He also helped England win the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship and made his senior debut in November 2024, scoring on debut. At Liverpool, Jones offers positional versatility, press resistance and defensive coverage while controlling the tempo from midfield.
