Cəlal Hüseynov

Cəlal Hüseynov is an Azerbaijani defender who developed at Zira and made his senior breakthrough in the Azerbaijan Premier League. He gained further first-team experience during a loan spell with Shamakhi in the 2022–23 season, making 33 league appearances. In July 2023, Hüseynov moved to Bulgarian club Arda Kardzhali and continued his development in the Bulgarian First League. He made 32 appearances during the 2023–24 campaign and scored his first goal in Bulgarian football. Primarily a centre-back, Hüseynov has also operated at right-back and defensive midfield, demonstrating positional versatility. At 1.83 metres, he can compete in aerial situations and support build-up play from deeper areas. He has represented Azerbaijan at under-21 and senior level. Hüseynov is also listed with Petrolul Ploiesti, adding a further chapter to his developing club career.
