Calvin Jay Fodrey

Calvin Jay Fodrey is an American midfielder from California who developed in Southern California’s youth football system. He played for Albion SC, San Diego Surf and San Diego Nomads before joining the LA Galaxy academy in 2019. Fodrey then returned to San Diego, signing an academy contract with San Diego Loyal SC at 17 and working under Landon Donovan. In fall 2022, he represented San Diego State, leading the Aztecs with seven goals and four assists in 18 matches while earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and All-Pac-12 first-team honors. Austin FC selected Fodrey 13th overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, after he became the draft’s youngest player and the only freshman with a Generation adidas contract. He helped Austin II win the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro title and made his first MLS contribution in 2024, assisting against Houston.
