Cole John Bassett

Cole John Bassett is an American midfielder who developed in Colorado, progressing from Colorado Rush to the Colorado Rapids Development Academy. While attending Chatfield High School, Bassett joined the Rapids first team and signed a Homegrown contract in August 2018. He made his senior debut later that year and scored his first professional goal against FC Dallas. From 2019 to 2021, he established himself as a regular contributor, appearing on the MLS 22 Under 22 list and reaching 10th in 2021. In January 2022, Bassett moved on loan to Feyenoord in the Netherlands, later returning to Colorado after a spell in Dutch football. He recorded career highs of nine goals and seven assists for the Rapids in 2024. Bassett joined the Portland Timbers in 2026 and has also represented the United States, scoring on his senior debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina in December 2021.
