Cody William Baker

Cody William Baker is an American defender, primarily a right-back who can also operate centrally. Born in 2004, he entered the Seattle Sounders’ development system through the Sounders Discovery Program in 2015 and joined the academy in 2018. Initially a center-back, Baker later moved to right-back as his mobility and technical ability became clearer. He made his professional debut for Tacoma Defiance in May 2021 and signed his first professional contract that July. After developing with Tacoma, Baker signed a Seattle Sounders first-team contract in 2023. His defensive approach emphasizes positioning, one-on-one duels and retaining possession, while his center-back experience allows him to tuck inside during attacks. Baker is also listed with New England Revolution, reflecting his continued progression through North American professional soccer.
