Chidozie Collins Awaziem

Chidozie Collins Awaziem is a Nigerian defender born in Enugu on 1 January 1997. He developed at El-Kanemi Warriors before joining FC Porto in 2014, where he won the Under-19 league title in his first season. After progressing through Porto B, Awaziem made his Primeira Liga debut against Benfica on 12 February 2016, completing the 2–1 victory. He then gained experience on loan at Nantes, Çaykur Rizespor and Leganes, before continuing his career with Boavista and subsequent spells at Alanyaspor and HNK Hajduk Split. At Hajduk, he helped win the Croatian Cup in 2023 and recorded five goals, his highest seasonal total. Awaziem primarily plays at centre-back but has also covered right-back and defensive midfield. He made his Nigeria debut against Togo in 2017, was included in the 2018 FIFA World Cup squad and featured at AFCON 2024, where Nigeria reached the final. He is listed with Konyaspor.
