Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes

Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes is a Portuguese central midfielder from Maia, Portugal. He developed at Boavista, initially playing as a centre-back, before moving into midfield during a loan spell at Pasteleira. At 17, Bruno Fernandes moved to Italy to join Novara, beginning a formative period that also included Serie A spells with Udinese and Sampdoria. He returned to Portugal with Sporting CP in 2017, where his attacking output and chance creation established him as a leading playmaker. Manchester United signed Fernandes in January 2020, and he soon became a central figure in the club’s attack. Operating primarily between the lines, he combines progressive passing, through balls and late runs with energetic pressing and defensive work. Fernandes has represented Portugal at senior and under-23 level and remains part of Manchester United’s squad.
