Brais Méndez Portela

Brais Méndez is a Spanish midfielder from Mos, Galicia. He began at Sárdoma and UD Santa Mariña, then joined Villarreal’s youth academy at 13, before returning to Galicia and entering Celta Vigo’s academy in 2012. Méndez made his senior debut for Celta’s reserves in 2014, scored his first senior goal in 2016, and reached the first team in 2017. He made his La Liga debut against Getafe that September and developed into a regular, recording nine goals in the 2020–21 season. During five years with Celta’s first team, Brais Méndez made more than 150 appearances. He debuted for Spain in November 2018, scoring the winner against Bosnia and Herzegovina. In July 2022, he joined Real Sociedad, where he scored a winning penalty against Manchester United on his European debut and later scored in his Champions League debut against Inter Milan.
