Bernardo Fernandes da Silva Junior

Bernardo Fernandes da Silva Junior, known as Bernardo, is a Brazilian midfielder born in São Paulo on 14 May 1995. He developed at Audax before joining Red Bull Brasil in 2014, beginning a career shaped by possession football and high-intensity pressing. In 2016, Bernardo moved to FC Red Bull Salzburg, where he was part of the squad that won the Austrian Bundesliga and Cup double in 2015–16. He then joined RB Leipzig and helped the club finish second in the 2016–17 Bundesliga, while also gaining Champions League experience. Bernardo moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018 and remained there until 2021, serving as a versatile squad option. After returning to Germany with VfL Bochum in 2023, he brought experience to a side competing in the Bundesliga. He is now listed with 1899 Hoffenheim, and his left-footed profile supports roles across midfield and defensive areas.
