Boubacar Traoré
Boubacar Traoré is a Malian defensive midfielder born in Bamako on 20 August 2001. He developed at AS Bamako before representing Mali at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Traoré made his professional debut for Metz against Nîmes in Ligue 1 on 10 May 2021. He became a regular in Metz’s midfield during the 2021–22 season, combining tackling and interceptions with forward running. Wolves signed him on loan in September 2022 before making the transfer permanent. He scored the late winner against Leeds United in the EFL Cup on 9 November 2022. After a difficult 2024–25 campaign, Traoré returned to Metz on loan for 2025–26. At his best, he wins the ball, protects possession and carries it into transitions, offering energy between both boxes.
