Bećir Omeragić

Bećir Omeragić is a Swiss defender born in Geneva on 20 January 2002. He developed at Étoile Carouge and Servette before moving to FC Zürich in summer 2018. Omeragić broke into Zürich’s first team as a teenager and helped the club win the Swiss Super League title in 2021/22. In 2023, he moved to Montpellier, continuing his career in Ligue 1 before the club’s relegation to Ligue 2 in April 2025. Primarily a centre-back, he has also been used at right-back and, occasionally, in holding midfield. His international path began with Switzerland’s senior team in October 2020, and he was part of the squad that reached the UEFA Euro 2020 quarter-finals. In February 2026, Omeragić returned to Switzerland by joining FC Basel 1893, adding experience from his spells in Switzerland and France.
