Bart Nieuwkoop
Bart Nieuwkoop is a Dutch right-back born on 7 March 1996 in Bergen op Zoom. He began at Tholense Boys and was later scouted by RBC Roosendaal before joining Feyenoord’s academy in 2011. Initially developed as a midfielder, Nieuwkoop moved into defence and made his Feyenoord first-team debut against De Graafschap on 4 October 2015. He was part of Feyenoord’s 2016–17 Eredivisie-winning squad and assisted Dirk Kuyt’s opening goal in the title-clinching match against Heracles Almelo. In search of regular playing time, he joined Willem II on loan in 2019 and helped the club finish fifth. Nieuwkoop moved to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a free transfer in 2021, where he played as an attacking wing-back in a 3-5-2 system. After two seasons in Belgium, he returned to Feyenoord in 2023 on a four-year contract, adding right-sided defensive and pressing options.
