Batista Adélino Mendy

Batista Adélino Mendy is a French defender, born on 12 January 2000 in Saint-Nazaire. He began playing at Saint-Nazaire AF in 2007 and joined the Nantes academy in 2015, progressing through the club’s youth and reserve sides. Mendy made his professional debut for Nantes against Monaco on 13 September 2020. After limited first-team opportunities, he moved to Angers in 2021 and established himself in Ligue 1, making more than 60 appearances across two seasons. In September 2023, Mendy transferred to Trabzonspor, continuing his development in Turkish football and starting 31 matches in his first season. At 1.91 metres, he offers a strong physical presence and can contribute as a defensive midfielder while also covering central-defensive areas. Mendy has also been involved with France’s youth teams, including the under-19 side. He remains part of the Trabzonspor squad.
