Bernardo Morgado Gaspar Lopes

Bernardo Morgado Gaspar Lopes is a Gibraltar international defender born in Cascais, Portugal, on 30 July 1993. He developed with União de Tires, Ginásio Agualva, Estoril Praia and Benfica, progressing through Portuguese youth football before moving to Lincoln Red Imps in September 2015. At Lincoln, Lopes established himself as a central defender and later became club captain, contributing to a long period of domestic success and European qualifying campaigns. His 1.87-metre frame supports an aerial and physically committed defensive role, while his distribution helps start attacks from the back. He can also operate as a defensive midfielder, giving Lincoln tactical flexibility. After gaining eligibility for Gibraltar, Lopes made his international debut against Grenada in March 2022 and has since featured in UEFA Nations League and World Cup qualifying.
