Boubacar Bernard Kamara

Boubacar Bernard Kamara is a defensive midfielder born in Marseille, France, who developed at Olympique de Marseille after joining the club’s academy in 2005. He progressed through Marseille’s youth system and captained the under-19 side to the 2017 Coupe Gambardella final. Kamara made his senior debut for Marseille in the Coupe de la Ligue in December 2016 and soon became the club’s youngest player to appear in European competition. Used initially as a central defender, he later moved into midfield, where his positioning helps shield the defence and connect possession. After six seasons with Marseille, Kamara joined Aston Villa on a free transfer in July 2022 and made his Premier League debut. His Villa role has included operating as a single pivot, in a double six or between centre-backs. A France international, Kamara provides defensive balance and press-resistant distribution.
