Branimir Kalaica
Branimir Kalaica is a Croatian defender born in Zagreb on 1 June 1998. He developed in the Dinamo Zagreb academy and was part of the club’s under-19 side that won the Croatian Junior League in 2015–16. In June 2016, Kalaica joined Benfica as a free agent on a six-year contract. He spent much of his time in Portugal with Benfica B in the Segunda Liga, making 187 appearances, and made his senior debut for Benfica in May 2017. After leaving Portugal, he returned to Croatia with Lokomotiva Zagreb for the 2023–24 season. Kalaica moved to FC Astana in July 2024, continuing his career in Kazakhstan. He has represented Croatia at under-21 level and has featured for Astana in UEFA Conference League qualifying.
