Bashir Humphreys

Bashir Humphreys is an English centre-back born in Exeter on 15 March 2003. He began his development at Reading before a period in grassroots football, then joined Chelsea’s academy at under-15 level. Initially a central midfielder, Humphreys moved into defence and captained Chelsea Under-18s during the 2020/21 season. In January 2023, he made his senior Chelsea debut at centre-back against Manchester City in the FA Cup. He subsequently spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan with SC Paderborn in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga, before joining Swansea City for the 2023/24 season and making 24 appearances. Humphreys moved to Burnley on loan in August 2024, contributing to their promotion-winning campaign before the transfer became permanent in May 2025. He has represented England in youth football, winning the 2022 European Under-19 Championship and scoring against Uruguay at the 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
