Berat Djimsiti
Berat Djimsiti is an Albania international centre-back born in Zürich, Switzerland, who developed through FC Zürich’s academy after starting at FC Zürich-Affoltern. He made his professional debut for Zürich in 2011 and helped the club win the Swiss Cup in 2013–14. Djimsiti moved to Atalanta in January 2016, then gained Italian experience on loan with Avellino in Serie B and Benevento in Serie A. Returning to Bergamo in 2018, he established himself in Atalanta’s defensive line and scored his first goal for the club against Inter that November. A tall, composed defender, Djimsiti contributes through physical duels, aerial defending and confident build-up play in a three-man system. He switched from Switzerland’s youth setup to represent Albania in 2015 and later captained his country. In 2024, Djimsiti lifted the UEFA Europa League with Atalanta after victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
