Bafodé Diakité

Bafodé Diakité is a French defender born in Toulouse on 6 January 2001. He developed with Toulouse ACF before joining Toulouse’s academy in 2013, then made his professional debut for Toulouse in a 1–0 Ligue 1 victory over Reims on 5 December 2018. Diakité scored his first senior goal against Dijon in May 2019 and remained with the club through its relegation, later helping Toulouse win the 2021–22 Ligue 2 title and return to the top flight. In August 2022, he transferred to Lille, where he developed from a player capable of covering at full-back into a centre-back. His game combines front-foot defending, aerial competition, recovery work and composed distribution, while his versatility has allowed him to operate across the back line. Diakité has represented France at youth level, including the under-21s, and joined Bournemouth in August 2025.
