Bryan Cristante

Bryan Cristante is an Italian midfielder born on 3 March 1995 in San Vito al Tagliamento. He developed in the AC Milan academy and emerged as a promising deep-lying playmaker before moving to Benfica in 2014. Limited opportunities in Portugal led to loan spells with Palermo and Pescara, giving him further experience in Italian football. Cristante joined Atalanta in 2017, where Gian Piero Gasperini’s system encouraged him to play higher and attack the penalty area with well-timed runs. He moved to AS Roma in 2018 and established himself as a versatile central player, operating as a box-to-box midfielder, regista or occasional centre-back. At Roma, Cristante helped win the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022 and became a dependable presence across different tactical systems. He also represents Italy, featuring in the squad that won UEFA Euro 2020, while his positional flexibility and physical presence continue to support Roma’s midfield.
