Brandon Scott Bye

Brandon Scott Bye is an American defender who developed from a college winger into a right-back. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he played at Western Michigan University, making 64 appearances and recording 22 goals and 19 assists. In 2017, Bye became the first MAC Player of the Year in Western Michigan program history and was a Hermann Trophy semifinalist. The New England Revolution selected him eighth overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, and he made his professional debut as a substitute against Philadelphia Union on March 3 that year. Bye scored his first professional goal against LAFC on September 15, 2018, and helped New England win the 2021 Supporters’ Shield. Following his Revolution spell, he joined the Portland Timbers in December 2025. As a full-back, Bye combines defensive work with overlapping runs and crossing, while his athletic background supports his two-way play.
