Benjamin Michel Édouard André

Benjamin Michel Édouard André is a French central midfielder born in Nice on 3 August 1990. He developed at AC Ajaccio after joining from Nice at 16 and reached the senior squad during the 2008–09 season, making his professional debut against Sedan. André scored his first professional goal against Châteauroux on the final day of that campaign. Initially used in utility roles, including right-back and on the flanks, he moved to Rennes in 2014, where he increasingly established himself in midfield and later became captain. With Rennes, André played the full 120 minutes of the 2018–19 Coupe de France final as the club defeated Paris Saint-Germain. He joined Lille in July 2019 and helped the club win the 2020–21 Ligue 1 title, while earning selection in the UNFP Team of the Year. At Lille, André continues to provide midfield structure and leadership.
