Aymeric Jean Louis Gérard Alph Laporte

Aymeric Laporte is a left-footed centre-back born in Agen, France, on 27 May 1994. He developed at SU Agen and Aviron Bayonnais before joining Athletic Club’s academy in 2009, making his senior debut for the Basque side in 2012. Laporte established himself in La Liga, earned a place in the 2013–14 team of the year, and helped Athletic Club win the 2015 Supercopa de España. In January 2018, he moved to Manchester City, where his composed distribution and defensive work supported domestic success and the club’s 2023 continental treble. After two seasons with Al-Nassr, Laporte returned to Athletic Club in September 2025. At international level, he represented France in youth football before switching to Spain in 2021, later winning Euro 2024. Primarily a central defender, Laporte can also operate at left-back and contributes through aerial defending and build-up play.
