Artur Melikyan

Artur Melikyan is an Armenian defender born on 30 June 2002. He developed in the youth system of Banants Yerevan, the club now known as FC Urartu, making his Armenia Under-18 League debut in September 2018 and scoring for the side the following April. Melikyan moved into senior football with Banants II, debuting for the reserve team in August 2020 and building a substantial run of First League appearances. By March 2024, he had reached 50 appearances for the reserves, providing a sustained foundation for his progression. His path then led to FC Urartu’s first team, where he made his Armenian Cup debut in October 2024 before appearing in the Premier League in May 2025. Primarily a centre-back, Melikyan has also been used at defensive midfield and right-back, and he represented Armenia at Under-19 level.
