Arthur Largura Chaves

Arthur Chaves is a Brazilian centre-back born in Florianópolis on January 29, 2001. He developed in Avaí’s academy after joining the club at age 11, progressing to the senior squad in 2021. At Avaí, he was part of the team that won the Campeonato Catarinense and secured promotion to Série A, before becoming a regular in Brazil’s top flight in 2022. Arthur moved to Académico de Viseu in Portugal in August 2022, continuing his development in senior football. He joined 1899 Hoffenheim in August 2024, bringing his 1.88-metre frame to the Bundesliga. At Hoffenheim, Arthur has used his height to contest aerial balls, maintain concentration and help organize the defensive line. Internationally, he represents Brazil U23 and helped the side win gold at the 2023 Pan-American Games.
