Arnau Martínez López

Arnau Martínez López is a Spanish right-back born in Barcelona on 25 April 2003. He began his development at Barcelona’s La Masia in 2010, but left the academy in 2016 before continuing with CE L’Hospitalet. Martínez joined Girona’s academy in September 2018, initially working as a centre-back. He made his senior debut for Girona in the Copa del Rey against Gimnástica Segoviana on 17 December 2020. On 9 May 2021, he scored against UD Logroñés to become the youngest goalscorer in Girona’s history. Martínez later scored Girona’s third goal in the 3–1 Segunda División play-off final win over Tenerife on 19 June 2022, helping secure promotion to La Liga. Primarily deployed at right-back, he has also contributed from central defensive areas and in possession, and remains part of Girona’s squad.
